Once again, I thank everyone who was involved and support the project. I am almost in tears with the amount of positivity I am receiving. This is really encouraging and that is always a great feeling to have. I love you all, really. You are what makes the world beautiful.

Until, next time…

We’re almost at the finish line! I finished the audio and I’ve moved onto my favourite part: colour grading! Imaginary should be available to watch within 2 days!

If you have been following Imaginary, I thank you for your enormous support. It’s been quite the ride!

Imaginary is alive!

I apologize! But I give you good news. Today marks the last day of school so I’m going to start working on Imaginary asap! Most likely tomorrow. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge since the last post and it’s been a while since I’ve looked at my timeline so hopefully something good will come out! Stay awesome folks!

VIDEO UPDATE!

2 Scenes, 2 Days

Hey people of the universe!

So I’ve finally found some time to edit some of Imaginary. All the filming is done except for one scene. Which I will be shooting sometime this week.

Here is the pulse of Imaginary so far:

My toughest challenge is audio. I am just not good with mastering and mixing at all. I’ve been playing around with EQ and gates. And I’ve managed to salvage some of the audio. Oh well it’s all a learning process so all is well.

Soon, said the weather.

I am so close to filming! We’re starting production next weekend if the weather allows us. Early morning are not my forte, but that’s when the sun will be shining.

p. s I’ve also enlisted Joy Wong as a PA/EPK. She is a wonderful artist and you should check her stuff out:

And so it begins.

The final step to pre-production is receiving this spider brace from Zak Forsman of Sabi Pictures. He is a lovely guy! I’m going to cut this short so I have time to revise my shot list. Filming will begin next week!!

Patience is Key.

Hey everyone! Once again, sorry for the severely delayed update. I have been busy doing event/concert filming and all that jazz. I finally finished reading Cinematic Storytelling and I am about to start the shot list for the film. Today I will be receiving my Zoom H2 and in a few more days I will be receiving my spider brace. Shooting will begin within the next two weeks and the film itself should be completed early October or latest mid October. I am debating whether or not I want to rent out the girl’s gym in my school to show the film. I guess I will run the film by a few close friends and see how they feel about the film and then I will decide whether or not I will show it publicly.

Also, I stumbled upon some photos of children entering the first grade. I am going to use these photos as a wardrobe study.

p.s I don’t feel creepy at all… okay maybe a little.

Script Completion & Knowledge Trees

Sorry for not updating in a while! Don’t worry I’m still working on the project. I finally looked over the script with Siraj and the script is now 100% complete. I’ve been reading articles on cinematic storytelling and directing in general. As I move from position to position for this film I am slowly learning the different aspects. Siraj says I should not be running all positions but I feel most comfortable and I feel in that way I can make the story truly mine. Of course I have a few assistants, such as script revisers, grips and definitely actresses. But, I am really running all things technical behind the camera. I picked up a book from the library entitled “Cinematic Storytelling” by Jennifer Van Sijll and I can’t wait to finish it. I picked it up after I read a sample chapter off her site.

I won’t be filming until after labour day because I am awaiting for my Zoom H2 to come in the mail it’s really a remarkable piece of technology. It runs on a SD card, has four condenser mic capsules, and it fits in the palm of my hand. At least this will give me time to prepare and learn before I begin filming!
