Once again, I thank everyone who was involved and support the project. I am almost in tears with the amount of positivity I am receiving. This is really encouraging and that is always a great feeling to have. I love you all, really. You are what makes the world beautiful.
Until, next time…
STAY AWESOME FOLKS! <3
We’re almost at the finish line! I finished the audio and I’ve moved onto my favourite part: colour grading! Imaginary should be available to watch within 2 days!
If you have been following Imaginary, I thank you for your enormous support. It’s been quite the ride!

Imaginary is alive!
I apologize! But I give you good news. Today marks the last day of school so I’m going to start working on Imaginary asap! Most likely tomorrow. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge since the last post and it’s been a while since I’ve looked at my timeline so hopefully something good will come out! Stay awesome folks!

2 Scenes, 2 Days
Hey people of the universe!
So I’ve finally found some time to edit some of Imaginary. All the filming is done except for one scene. Which I will be shooting sometime this week.
Here is the pulse of Imaginary so far:
My toughest challenge is audio. I am just not good with mastering and mixing at all. I’ve been playing around with EQ and gates. And I’ve managed to salvage...

different and productive
hey everyone, (assuming that people read this thing)
here’s a few updates on the film as well as myself…
- i took a week of facebook so i could focus on the film and let me tell you it was slightly hard, trying to get in contact with people…
- athena dropped out due to scheduling conflicts
- miranda is now played by our epk/pa joy wong
- she also takes pictures while not on...
Soon, said the weather.
I am so close to filming! We’re starting production next weekend if the weather allows us. Early morning are not my forte, but that’s when the sun will be shining.
p. s I’ve also enlisted Joy Wong as a PA/EPK. She is a wonderful artist and you should check her stuff out:

And so it begins.
The final step to pre-production is receiving this spider brace from Zak Forsman of Sabi Pictures. He is a lovely guy! I’m going to cut this short so I have time to revise my shot list. Filming will begin next week!!
Patience is Key.
Hey everyone! Once again, sorry for the severely delayed update. I have been busy doing event/concert filming and all that jazz. I finally finished reading Cinematic Storytelling and I am about to start the shot list for the film. Today I will be receiving my Zoom H2 and in a few more days I will be receiving my spider brace. Shooting will begin within the next two weeks and the film itself should...

Script Completion & Knowledge Trees
Sorry for not updating in a while! Don’t worry I’m still working on the project. I finally looked over the script with Siraj and the script is now 100% complete. I’ve been reading articles on cinematic storytelling and directing in general. As I move from position to position for this film I am slowly learning the different aspects. Siraj says I should not be running all...
revisions
rehearsal
Today we ran through the script a few times, and acted out some of the scenes. I provided massive amounts of Kraft Dinner and Katie provided Twizzlers. It was a good day.
Now I need to start looking over the script more seriously and begin the shot list. It’s going to be a while until our next meet up with the “crew”. And it’s been a long week, the days are starting to...
rough reading
Today, Athena and I headed over to Katie’s house where they both read the script for the first time. The response was positive however, they did point out that there are a few typos here and there. I am so terrible with writing. I don’t like to look things over. But even on this blog there are so many mistakes that sometimes I look back and wonder what I was thinking. FACT: All the...
film score.
Today I spent a few hours with Kate and more hours on public transit. My bum started to hurt a bit even, not like you needed to know that. Kate showed me a sample of what she came up with and although it wasn’t exactly what I wanted it was beautiful. It sort of made me want to learn how to play piano. She’s really gifted! We didn’t spend too much time working on the actual film...
character study
I finished a really really really rough version of the script last night. I consulted Zak Forsman and he provided a lot of great tips. I have also posted on DVXuser asking for tips and all that jazz. Today I need to look over the script and, hopefully it’ll be finalized by this Sunday.
It was my friend’s birthday today, so I decided to visit her at work (she teaches children how to...
writing scripts & the diy way
If you saw a girl carrying a giant foamcore board near Kennedy and Wooten Way. It was me. I had to go through a small storm to get this foamcore from Curry’s. It was alright though, I was with friends. However people give you weird looks when you bring a large white board onto public transit. I realize that I am probably the least crafty person on the Earth. Here’s a picture of the...

a few shots from yesterday and the purpose of the...
So I failed to mention that Kristi Terakita was there with Athena and I while we were scouting places. For the day she acted as an EPK. here are a few shots.
The film is going to be dedicated to one of my best friend’s sister who passed away recently due to a fatal car crash. Today I attended the funeral and although it was terribly sad, it motivated me and inspired me in such a way that...
Welcome!
This site will work as both a production blog and official website for the short film Imaginary. It is maintained by the director, Gayle Ye.
About Imaginary
Two girls, Katie and Miranda are inseperable. Katie is a 9 year old girl who is a social outcast in school due her wild and often dubbed strange imagination. Her imaginary friend, Miranda, guides Katie through her imagination. However all...
